UNACU is the umbrella body for specialists in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, and all IT-related jobs/careers in Uganda. UNACU has been in existence for years and boasts its presence in almost all tertiaries in Uganda (including privately owned ones).

ICT Clubs in Rural Schools

Project Area: Masaka District

UNACU Professional Organisation established ICT clubs in 20 rural secondary schools to empower students with digital skills and internet access.

Goal: UGX 16,000,000 – Ongoing

Community Learning Networks

Project Area: Kampala, Masaka & Kalungu

Two community learning hubs were launched to help learners access digital lessons and computer literacy materials. Note: Project is currently paused pending further updates.

AquaSafe Uganda

Project Area: Rakai

Youth-led initiative providing rural communities with clean water via IoT sensors and solar purification, plus local training.

Goal: USD 10,000 – Ongoing

Trained young women in computer skills, coding, and digital entrepreneurship across all projects to boost job readiness.

Digital Literacy for Youth

Project Area: Kalungu

Providing laptops, training, and internet to refugee youth to prepare them for digital jobs and remote learning.

Mobile ICT Training Van

Project Area: Western Uganda (Kasese, Mbarara)

A solar-powered ICT van delivering mobile computer training to rural schools and health centers without electricity.

Goal: UGX 155,000,000 – NextLeap Project

Rural Internet Access

Project Area: Greater Masaka Districts

Implemented a grant-funded project delivering affordable satellite-based internet to advance digital inclusion.

Goal: Incorporated Completed

Vocational Computer Labs

Project Area: Northern Uganda

Equipped two vocational training centers with fully functional computer labs to enhance practical ICT skills.

Goal: UGX 128,000,000 – NextLeap Project

Digital Classrooms for Schools

Project Area: Kalungu District

Installed digital projectors and e-learning systems in 2 primary schools to enhance teaching through interactive content.

Goal: - Vision Ahead Initiative

Youth Coding Bootcamp

Project Area: Lira & Gulu

A 12-week coding bootcamp designed to teach youth how to build websites and mobile apps, offering them job-ready skills In Northern Uganda.

Goal: UGX 60,000,000 – NextLeap Project

Solar-Powered Computer Centers

Project Area: Karamoja

Providing solar-powered computer centers to remote regions, offering Computer (ICT) trainings and access to essential digital tools and materials.

Smart School Tablets for Students

Project Area: Wakiso District

Distribution of smart tablets and computers to schools, enabling students to access online educational opportunities, resources and e-books.
